Betty Knoll is from Ohio. She attended Miami University (Ohio) and received a B.S. in Education at Wright State University. She then moved to Devon, Pennsylvania in 1976, and she and her future husband sailed from Georgetown, Maryland to Fort Lauderdale in their 36' Cal Crusing Sailboat. In 1978 they moved to California and lived aboard a 44' Lafitte for 13 years. They have traveled extensively throughout the world, exploring every continent except Antarctica. They returned to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1996. Her paintings reflect her travels and her love and passion for sailing and the sea.
She started painting in 1996. Favorite subjects of her art work are flowers, sailboats, seascapes, and animals. More recently she has enjoyed abstract art. Her mediums are watercolor, mixed media, collage, monotypes, pastels, oil, and acrylics.

She has had solo exhibits at Sica Hall and several Sun Trust Banks. She also exhibits at Holly Hill City Hall, South Daytona City Hall, Ormond, Daytona and Port Orange Libraries.
She is a member of the Palette and Brush Club, the Art Guild of Ponce Inlet, and the Art League of Daytona Beach.
In 2004-2006 she was Chairman ot the Members' Choice Show of the Palette and Brush Club, and Chairman of the the Members' Fine Arts Show of the Ponce Inlet Art Guild and Co-Chairman of the Ponce Inlet Fine Arts Show at Lighthouse Park. In 2007-2008 she was appointed Corresponding Secretary ,Workshop Chairman, and Newletter Editor of the Art League of Daytona Beach.
